ARMED SECURITY

Like our Unarmed Security Professionals, BlueTac Armed Security Professionals are applicably trained, equipped, and prepared for the security conditions of the posts for which they are assigned. Their BlueTac Ranks may include

Specialist

Specialist – (DTaVS requirement: 1-7)

As a Specialist, your primary duty will be to deter and defuse incidents that may result in vandalism, destruction of property, or felony burglary. You will be required to carry less than lethal options, such as OC Spray and/or Taser, and be versed in the escalation of force utilizing your firearm to protect lives. Specialists typically work in high crime areas and must be trained and comfortable with threats of violence, frequent trespassers, and interactions with homeless and drug users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patrol the property to deter criminal activity and identify any suspicious activities or individuals.
  • Intervene and de-escalate situations that could potentially lead to violence or property damage.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as fires or medical emergencies.
  • Deploy less than lethal defensive tools, such as OC spray or Taser, when necessary to prevent harm to people or property.
  • Use your firearm to protect lives and property, only as a last resort and in accordance with company policies and state/federal law.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of incidents and activities.

Requirements:

  • Valid Security Guard License and Armed Guard License.

  • Knowledge of defensive tools, such as OC spray or Taser, and the ability to use them appropriately.
  • Proficient in the use of firearms and knowledgeable of state and federal laws regarding the use of deadly force.
  • Must be physically fit and able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

As an Field Training Operative, your primary duty will be to act as an armed deterrent and respond to dangerous incidents with varying degrees of force to protect life and property. You must be comfortable operating in high crime areas and interacting with individuals who may pose a threat. You will carry less than lethal options, such as OC spray and/or taser, and be tactically trained to escalate to your firearm when necessary.Key

Responsibilities:
  • Deter criminal activity and protect life and property by monitoring and patrolling the premises.
  • Supervise and manage up to 25 employees across a number of sites within the greater Seattle/Tacoma area
  • Carry and be trained to use less than lethal defensive tools, such as OC spray and/or taser, appropriately.
  • Be tactically trained for Force on Force and Active Shooter Response.
  • Respond to and intervene in dangerous incidents on short notice with varying degrees of force, including the use of your firearm to protect life if necessary.
